Christopher Bowden Portsmouth, NH Death: The Portsmouth, NH community is mourning the family of Fotinie Tzortzakis Bowden, who tragically lost her two children a few years apart. Fotinie lost her son Kevin to a tragic car accident in 2020, according to a GoFundMe Account. On Friday, July 12th, she lost her 17-year-old son Christopher.

Christopher Jesse Bowden died abruptly at the age of 17 on July 12, 2024. Christopher entered the world on December 20, 2006, in Biddeford, Maine. He was the nicest Christmas present his older brother Kevin could have hoped for. Christopher grew up in Portsmouth, NH, with his brother and relatives in a large Greek household where family was paramount. He was a fun-loving, cheerful, and wonderful soul who made everyone around him laugh and smile. Chris was the family comic, often pulling pranks to make everyone laugh and enjoy life.

Christopher was extremely brilliant, artistic, and intelligent. He enjoyed drawing and hoped to one day become a cartoonist. He enjoyed assisting his mother with household repairs and furniture assembly. His most recent endeavor was creating a doghouse for his American Eskimo, Nanook. The completed product reflected his dedication and affection for the project. When the sun went down, you could always find Chris in his happy place: online playing video games with his Aunt Delaney and Uncle Tyler, two people he loved dearly.

Christopher was gifted with extraordinary talents. He had a golden heart and an extraordinary ability to recognize the good in everyone, regardless of the circumstances. His compassion and ability to forgive readily were only a few of his lovely attributes. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and everyone he loved and trusted. He would do anything for them if he could.

He was very young when his older brother, Kevin, died. Kevin was one of the few individuals Chris looked up to and respected. Chris had always aspired to be like his older brother. Kevin was his best buddy, rock, guardian, and accomplice in crime. This loss shattered Christopher’s soul. Christopher was fortunate to have a second companion in crime, Sean Credit. They had been great friends since second grade. They were usually up for some antics and fun. Sean was a great source of comfort for Chris, assisting him in coping with and moving on from the death of his older brother.

Christopher was a steadfast and ferocious protector of his mother, Fotinie, and yia yia (grandmother). He adored both and did everything in his power to demonstrate this. The unbreakable and unique friendship they had was truly remarkable. Chris frequently taunted his mother that when he grew up, he was going to purchase a van and live by the river with his wife and children, and that he would also move her in when she was old and gray. His mother would mock him back, saying she’d rather be put in a retirement home.

Christopher is survived by his mother, Fotinie Tzortzakis Bowden of Portsmouth, NH; his father, Aria Jesse Bowden of St. Petersburg, FLA; his grandparents, Chrisoula Tzortzakis of Portsmouth, NH; Wendy and Merrill Farrand of Limerick, ME. In addition to his brother Kevin, Christopher was predeceased by his loving Papou Antonio Tzortzakis and Great Grampy Charlie Magaw. When Christopher Bowden, the world’s most beautiful and brightest light, passed away, the world got darker. Christopher, you will be greatly missed by all, but Kevin now has his little brother and partner in crime back. Kevin, it’s your turn to protect and care after him.
