TJ Chrystie, the owner and CEO of Blacktop Boys Sealcoating & Stripe from Greig, New York, has tragically passed away following a shooting incident. His untimely death was confirmed through a heartfelt social media post that read, “It’s crazy today I was scrolling Facebook and found out one of my softball buddies was shot yesterday and now he has passed away. Tj Chrystie was one of the most competitive guys I have ever met. I loved talking trash to him during softball and then going and hanging out after the game was over.”

His attention to detail and dedication to quality work earned him respect and recognition among his peers and clients alike. TJ’s contributions to the field of restoration left a lasting impact on the communities he served, as he worked to ensure that historical and significant structures were maintained for future generations to appreciate.
However, TJ’s ambitions didn’t stop there. With a vision to carve his own path, he founded Blacktop Boys Sealcoating & Stripe, where he served as Owner and CEO. Funeral Arrangements
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 21, from 12-4 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St., Boonville, where a service will begin at 4 P.M. Following the services, all are invited to attend a further celebration of TJ’s life at the Boonville Elks Lodge, Rt. 12, Boonville, beginning at 5:00 P.M. Food donations can be dropped off starting at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary contributions for his daughter, Izabel’s future education. Contributions may be left at the funeral home or sent by mail to 2387 Geiskopf Rd, Boonville, NY 13309, in care of Izabel Chrystie.
